the one I tried to love

The one I tried to love
You were the one I tried to love
That summer in Berlin
Our past was dark
But the present we were in
You were the one I tried to love
Against all our odds
With our different gods
You were the one I tried to love
To hug and kiss and keep
From running away from us
You were the one I tried to love
Day by day, night by night
It felt so good, it felt so right
You were the one I tried to love
For a minute or a life
As a affair or as a wife
You were the one I tried to love
I swear that is the truth
All I want was me & you

Only strangers and Miles Davis
I'm buying pictures, of the street cafe
I used to drink
mojitos & wine
Catching glances, sometimes a smile
Smiles like yours on that afternoon
We sat there both with a partner
Both we were drawn to each other
Losing our conversations
And in between our world is
only strangers and Miles Davis
trumpet and piano are dancing
craving eyes exchanging glances
I can't believe my friend's not aware
I'm looking at you, straight through her
One more look I get up I swear
If she then kills me I don't care
But a group busts into your table
Just one wink and gone your were

drunken fly

The drunken fly
She was a dry fly
Before the fly met me
I poured my beer
And a drop landed on the table
She was at it in no time
I let her – so what a fly with a little buzz
If I'd be her
I'd be thankful for the rest of my life
Once she moved away from the drop
She must have figured
I better walk
Cause the fly didn't fly
The fly ran here and there and everywhere
Where flies do usually fly
The fly was high on Pilsner
So there were to of us tonight
I wasn't drinking alone anymore
I was in good company
I talked to her, she talked to me
While trampling over my charcoal drawing
Seemed cool to me
Since we were kind of friends
I enjoyed her enjoying her buzz
Until she left me too, by taking off
The fly wasn't dry
The fly wasn't high
The fly had the perfect buzz
For a little while

hearts must bleed

Hearts must bleed
I remember
how you pulled me with your hand
like people in an indie movie
who have dreams but no goal to go to
Hearts must bleed
Before they can truly love
And hearts must bleed
Before they grow apart
I love the things
you tell yourself and I
tend to believe, you build your life
from the rubble of the bridges you burnt
I love your gesture
how you cupped my hand
when I gave you fire
the flames licking your palms
I never forget
you told me: hearts must bleed
now I wish my heart would have bled
the day before we met
